Hi Andrew Levin. I’ve been working on an update that will be a separate article. In brief, they’ve really made great strides on the manufacturing waste side (though exactly how good is still difficult to pin down because they don’t release as much data on it as say Toyota or Ford) and the “movement” aspect has really accelerated with lots of other car companies doing as intended, namely following Tesla’s lead. That being said, a lot is still not going right and much of it (imo) comes down to cars being really hard to design, manufacture, and sell in large numbers profitably. It’s amazing what Musk has been able to do and I cringe a bit less today than I did two and half years ago at the notion of them being “sustainable”.
